System Restore

     System Restore is a program that allows you to change Windows settings back to a different time and\or date. This tool is useful to restore Windows back to a date when it was working correctly. If you are receiving random errors or other problems then System Restore is a good tool to use to attempt to fix the problem. In many cases you will want to try to do a System Restore before other troubleshooting since this could cause other errors if you remove software or modify to many settings before doing a System Restore.


Accessing System Restore

Accessing System Restore in Windows XP

1: Click on the Start button.
2: Click on the All Programst link.
3: Click on the Accessories link.
4: Click on the System Tools link.
5: Click on System Restore.

Accessing System Restore in Windows Vista and Windows 7

1: Click on the Start button.
2: type in System Restore in the Search box.
3: In the search results click on System Restore.

Accessing System Restore in Windows 8

1: Open the Charm Menu (Windows key and the C key on the keyboard).
2: Click on Search.
3: In the search box type in Restore.
4: Click on Settings that appears in the search list.
5: In the Settings screen click on Recovery.
6: Click on Open System Restore.

Creating and Restoring with System Restore

     System Restore is fairly easy to use. Once you open up System Restore you may be presented with two options. One being create a restore point and the other being restore from a restore point. YOu simply need to choose the option you are looking for and hit next then follow the on-screen instructions. If you dont have any create a restore point option then System Restore will be in Restore mode. This will let let you restore your pc back to an earlier date. System Restore will automaticaly create restore points as you use the computer.
