Windows 8 Installation and Uninstallation

     This article will cover a clean installation. upgrade installation. a startup repair install, and a parallel installation. Windows 8 Clean Installation

     A clean installation of Windows 8 is generally the recommended way to install Windows 8 onto your computer since you dont have to worry about previous software settings causing any installation problems. Please note that this installation method will remove any previous software or data on your computer. To perform a clean installation use the following steps below.

Windows 8 Clean Installation Instructions

1: Boot up your computer.
2: Insert the Windows 8 disc into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive.
3: Reboot the computer if needed.
4: Press any key on the keyboard when the message Press any key to boot from CD or DVD appears on the screen.
5: Boot up your computer.
6: When the Windows Setup screen appears choose your langauge and other options then click the Next button.
7: On the next screen click on Install Now.
8: Follow the on screen instructions to finish the Windows 8 installation.

Windows 8 Upgrade Installation

     Windows 8 is able to be upgraded from Windows 7, Vista, and XP but older version of Windows and other operating systems will require a clean installation. It is recommmended to contact your computer manufacturer, various software vendors, and visit the Microsoft Hardware Comptability List before upgrading to Windows 8. To upgrade to Windows 8 use the following steps below.

1: Boot up your computer into Windows.
2: Insert the Windows 8 disc into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive.
3: If needed choose the Run Setup.exe option on the Autoplay screen.
4: Follow the on screen instructions to finish the windows 8 installation.

Windows 8 Startup Repair Installation

     The startup repair option is generally not considered a installation method but it is used by various repair technicians to repair a corrupted Windows 8 installation. To perform a startup repair use the follow instructions below.

1: Boot up your computer.
2: Insert the Windows 8 disc into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive.
3: Reboot the computer if needed.
4: Press any key on the keyboard when the message Press any key to boot from CD or DVD appears on the screen.
5: On the next screen setup your language and other options then click the Next button.
6: On the next screen click on the Repair your computer link.
7: On the next screen click on the Troubleshoot option.
8: On the troubleshoot screen click on Advanced Options.
9: In the advanced options screen click on the Automatic Repair option.
10: Follow any instructions on the screen to finish the startup repair.

Windows 8 Parallel Installation

     A parallel installation is the method of installing Windows 8 onto another harddisk or partition when there is a current corrupt install of Windows 8 on the computer. This method is generally used by repair technicians to retreive files and settings before doing a clean installation on a corrupted install of Windows 8. To perform a parallel installation use the instructions below.

1: Boot up your computer.
2: Insert the Windows 8 disc into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive.
3: Reboot the computer if needed.
4: Press any key on the keyboard when the message Press any key to boot from CD or DVD appears on the screen.
5: On the next screen setup your language and other options then click the Next button.
6: Click on the Install Now button on the next screen.
7: Follow the on screen instructions until you get to the Where do you want to install Windows screen.
8: Choose a new partition or harddrive to install Windows 8 onto.
9: Allow the Windows 8 installation to finish.

Windows 8 Uninstallation

     Windows 8 does not include any automated uninstallation tools like older version of Windows. To uninstall Windows 8 you will need to do a clean installation of your previous operating system. Please note that this method will cause you to lose any installed software, settings, and files on the computer.
