Kid Niki review by Tyson

Overall

Rental

Kid Niki is definitely a rental for me. While it can be fun, the one hit death just make it more frustrating then fun for me. I would suggest trying this first before purchasing.

Gameplay

Stop me if you have heard this story before. A guy's girlfriend gets kidnapped and he must go on an adventure to save her. This pretty much sums up the story of Kid Niki. The gameplay is pretty standard. You move through each of the games 8 levels hitting everything with your sword that comes at you. What I hated about Kid Niki is that you die in one hit. I found that this made the game very frustrating and way to challenging at times. I think it is stupid when something like a bubble will kill you. Thankfully the game does gives you unlimited continues so you can atleast make progress with enough time while chipping away at it. Sadly though once you turn off the game you need to start back at level 1.

Control

I had no issues with the control. It has a simple to use walk, attack, and jump setup that many NES games have.

Graphics

Kid Niki has alright graphics. Each level seemed to have something new to look at. I also didn't notice any major framerate issues when a lot of enemies were on-screen as well.

Sound

The audio in Kid Niki was alright as well. The background music was nice and I liked the sound effects used for jumping and using your sword.
